Description

There are few preachers on the scene with the combined intellect and swag of the one who pastors the oldest African American church in New York, Rev. Dr. Richard C. Chapple, Jr. I first heard his homiletical gifting on the campus of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in upstate New York. Dr. Chapple, is a gifted writer and expositor of the gospel and his demand is high both in this country and across the waters. His unique ability to engage the social realities of the day with the discourse raised in the text have made him a voice of necessity. Pastoring in the heart of Harlem on 137th Street is no cake walk, but this preacher has done it with great class and conviction. If you have the time, please treat yourself for what I found to be a very rich dialogue with the one and only “Harlem Hitman.” This is the first of two interview segments with Dr. Chapple. Enjoy!
